About Us
A swing from a rope into cold spring waters. Long free days exploring open countryside. Bright memories of creek, sky, fields and friends. Friends of Blue Hole is a non-profit organization created to protect, restore and develop Blue Hole Regional Park as a recreational, educational and ecological resource for present and future generations. The park is owned and operated by the City of Wimberley. Friends of Blue Hole raises funds and promotes awareness and community participation for this award-winning, sustainable, historic park in the heart of the Hill Country. Many of the board members and supporters of Friends of Blue Hole cherish childhood experiences in the Wimberley Valley. Most of our current board members were deeply involved in the initial acquisition and protection of Blue Hole and have carried forward a vision of a park for all to share and for all to find their own memories in the natural world. Experience often inspires commitment – in this case a shared commitment to a community and to preservation of one of our cherished places.
